If no one's told you lately

You don't have to be falling apart to deserve care.

  • You're the strong one. The steady one. The one everyone calls.
  • You're tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix.
  • Your mind keeps running long after you've clocked out.
  • Maybe a diagnosis changed everything, and you're still smiling through it.

I see you. And you're allowed to put some of it down.

Or maybe it's something quieter

Maybe nothing is wrong. Maybe you're asking bigger questions.

Is this the life I actually want?

Who am I outside of what everyone expects of me?

I did everything right. So why does it feel like this?

What now?

Those questions deserve more than a quick fix. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make meaning of where you've been, and choose where you're going, especially in the in-between seasons of life.

Calm water at dusk

Now, take a breath and imagine

Feeling lighter.

Breathing all the way down again. Sleeping through the night. Walking into your day a little steadier. Finally being on your own side.

That version of you isn't a stranger. They're already in there, underneath everything you've been carrying. We'll find them, at a pace that feels right to you.

Ready to take the first step? It's just a conversation.

What would it feel like to put some of this down?

Give yourself one minute. Follow the circle: breathe in as it grows, and out as it softens.

Ready when you are.

What it's like to work with me

Gentle, honest, and built on what's already strong in you.

We make sense of your story

No judgment, no rushing. We explore your patterns, your expectations, and what gives your life meaning, because we can't change what we can't see.

You befriend the voice in your head

Yes, even the critical one. Most of us go our whole lives without really meeting it. Life gets lighter when it's on your side.

You leave with something real

Practical tools for 2am or right before a hard meeting, including ways to calm a nervous system that's been running on overdrive.

My approach blends insight and meaning-making with practical tools from CBT, mindfulness, and DBT-informed principles. We'll understand why you feel the way you do, and what you want to do about it. I'm warm, I'm direct, and yes, we'll laugh sometimes. My goal isn't for you to need me forever. It's for you to trust yourself more.

Pause here for a moment.

Who would you be if you weren't carrying all of this?

It's the question underneath the one I always come back to: is it keeping you from the life you want? If the answer is yes, that's reason enough to begin.

Valentina A., Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Nice to meet you

Hi, I'm Valentina.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker · Florida License #SW27351

I trained inside hospitals, first a psychiatry clinic in New York, then two years at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, sitting with people through transplant, cancer, and chronic pain. What I'll never forget is how much lighter people looked when someone finally took them seriously. That's what I want for you.

I believe the only way out is through, and that you're more capable of it than you think. Outside of sessions, I'm usually somewhere near the water, making an unreasonable number of lists.

Social Work Fellow, Mayo Clinic, 2024–2026

Questions

Whatever you're wondering.

I've never done therapy before. Is that okay?

Completely. Many people I work with are starting for the first time. I'll explain how things work as we go.

What if I don't know what's wrong?

That's a gentle place to start. "Something feels off and I can't name it" is one of the most common reasons people reach out.

Does online therapy actually work?

Research generally finds video therapy works about as well as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety and depression.

Where do I need to be?

Anywhere in Florida, from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach to Tampa Bay, Sarasota, Naples, Orlando, and Jacksonville. Choose somewhere private and comfortable, with a steady connection. Please don't join while driving.

How do superbills and out-of-network insurance work?

Because I'm out of network, we can focus on your care without an insurance company deciding how many sessions you get or what your treatment looks like. I provide an itemized superbill with the codes your insurance needs. You upload it to your insurance portal, and if you have out-of-network benefits, they send reimbursement directly to you.

How do I know if my insurance will reimburse me?

Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask: "Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits for CPT code 90837?", "What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?", and "What percentage do you reimburse after that?" Their answers will tell you what to expect.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Your record is protected under HIPAA and Florida law, and nothing is billed to insurance unless you submit a superbill yourself. I'll walk you through the narrow legal exceptions in our first session.

Do you work with my psychiatrist?

Yes, with your written permission, so your care fits together.

Is there anything you're not the right fit for?

As a solo online practice, I'm not set up for active crisis, active psychosis, detox-level substance use, eating disorders needing medical monitoring, court-ordered treatment, couples or family therapy, or clients under 18. If that's where things are, I'll help you find the right care.

Not ready yet? That's okay.

Take something with you.

Whether or not we ever work together, I want you to leave here a little lighter.
